The Slang – Feels Like Work

By Andrew Bansal

Based out of Columbus, Ohio, alternative rock group The Slang are ready to release their self-titled debut EP on September 2nd, and are giving listeners a taste of what to expect with the single ‘Feels Like Work’ which is now streaming online.

With a pristine and instantly catchy guitar tone, the band’s songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist John Bobo makes an immediate impression on this song, and his guitar work dominates the composition in a recurring manner. The vocals fit on top of it beautifully, and the other layers revolve around this core sound to altogether create a quintessential alt rock tune that would appeal to all fans of the genre.

The band has been in existence since 2012 but it has taken them two years to put together this debut single and EP, but during this time they’ve clearly harnessed and developed their musical talents before presenting their debut release to the world. The single is a solid precursor to much more great music from the band in the near future, and alt/pop rock followers are strongly recommended to check it out.
