Interview: Veil Of Maya’s Marc Okubo Talks About Next Album, Working With Misha Mansoor (Audio)

By Andrew Bansal

When they performed at the Summer Slaughter show at Hollywood’s House Of Blues in 2010, technical death metal band Veil Of Maya managed to capture my attention with their live musicianship. They did complete justice to all of their songs in the short but intense 30-minute set, specially the material from their highly impressive latest album “Id”. After that show, I was eager to get another taste of their live performance , and I got it at the Whisky A Go-Go in November of that year, as they opened up for Darkest Hour and played a longer set. Interview: Threat Signal Vocalist Jon Howard Talks About New Album, Explains Reasons For Lack Of Touring (Audio)

By Andrew Bansal

Canadian heavy metal band Threat Signal recently put out their third full length-album, a self-titled release that reaches a new level of aggression, and proves to be the band’s heaviest record till date. Ever since the album came out on October 11th under the Nuclear Blast label, it has been getting a similar response from other members of the media. Death metal band Decrepit Birth’s latest album “Polarity”, which was released in 2010 under the Nuclear Blast label, was right up there with the best releases on the year, in my opinion. The band has been actively promoting the album on the road, on the Summer Slaughter tour in 2010, followed by tours with Suffocation and Kataklysm. By Andrew Bansal

Former Iron Maiden singer Blaze Bayley is currently on his first ever solo headlining US tour, and as part of this tour, he performed at the Key Club in Hollywood last week, on November 10th 2011. It was an amazing show to say the least, not only because his voice was absolutely great, but also the set list was near-perfect, with a selection of Iron Maiden, Wolfsbane and solo material that left the fans highly satisfied by the time the show ended.

And he didn’t stop even after that. He went straight to the bar, and invited everyone to come over and meet him. He was more than willing to sign autographs and take pictures with anyone and everyone who wanted to do so. He made sure he gave fans the complete Blaze Bayley experience, and showed them how thankful he was for their support.
