No amount of words can do justice to how amazing The Shrine really are, so I won’t make an attempt at any detailed descriptions here. All I would say is, the Los Angeles-based trio plays music that can be labeled as rock ‘n roll at its purest, in every sense of the term.
They put out a demo titled “Bless Off” recently, and are currently on tour with Fu Manchu. On November 18th, an off-date from that tour, they came back to LA to open for Kyuss Lives at the Wiltern. Before their set, I had a chance to catch up with all three members and talk to them about these gigs, their latest demo, the DIY approach, and other things. Listen to the 8-minute conversation below, and do yourselves a favor by checking out their full demo here. Or better, you can buy it for a mere $3, at this location. Trust me, you will consider it the best 3 dollars you’d have ever spent.
