Swedish prog-power outfit Evergrey have been around for more than 15 years, and through eight studio albums, they have successfully expressed themselves with music that’s melodic, heavy, dark and progressive. The judicious combination of these elements is their major strength, and separates them from other bands that play a similar style of music. In the early part of this year, they released their latest studio album “Glorious Collision”, which not only boasts of a fantastic cover artwork, but also solidifies the group’s reputation as constantly developing musicians.
After a long gap, they finally landed in America and did a tour across the continent. The LA area show was at the Key Club on October 6th, and a few hours before they hit the stage, I sat down with guitarists Tom Englund and Marcus Jidell to talk about this tour, the new album, gear, and other things. Listen to the short 8-minute conversation below, and check out their facebook page for more info.
