Seeing Scottish pirate metal band Alestorm live is one of the most fun-filled experiences you’ll ever get at a metal concert. The best thing about them is, even though their music is themed on pirates and drinking, there is so real visual “gimmick” to it. They do not dress up as pirates, and in the end, their show is all about the music. They have released three studio albums till date, but I actually saw them live before hearing any of their music. It was at the Eluveitie show in late 2009 at the now extinct Ultra Violet Social Club in Los Angeles, and I was instantly blown away. After that, I sought out their music, and found myself enjoying it, specially the latest release “Back Through Time”, which came out on Napalm Records last June.
