Early Graves Guitarist Chris Brock Talks New Album, US Tour & More

By Andrew Bansal

San Francisco-based metal band Early Graves are releasing their third studio album “Red Horse” today, on October 30th 2012, via No Sleep Records. After the tragic death of their vocalist Makh Daniels in a van accident in 2010, the band recruited John Strachan from The Funeral Pyre as their new vocalist, and played a few shows in 2011 before writing this new record. To support this release, they have just completed a US touring run including a 32-date tour with Skeletonwitch & Havok, and a few headline dates. A few days ago, while they were still on tour, I caught up with guitarist Chris Brock to discuss the making of the new album, the US tour, change of vocalist, and lots more. Read the conversation below, and visit the Early Graves facebook page for more info. Continue reading “Early Graves Guitarist Chris Brock Talks New Album, US Tour & More”

In-depth Interview With Lich King

By Andrew Bansal

Greenfield MA-based thrash metal band Lich King recently released their new album “Born Of The Bomb”, a thoroughly impressive effort that’s right up there with any thrash album released this year, in my opinion. With killer tunes such as “We Came To Conquer”, “Wage Slave”, “In The End, Devastation”, “Combat Mosh” and a true salutation to the old-school in the form of the Agent Steel cover “Agents Of Steel”, this album rages hard. Couple of days ago, I had a detailed but fun-filled, light-hearted and candid conversation with vocalist Tom Martin, bassist Dave Hughes and drummer Brian Westbrook. Enjoy the interview, check out “Wage Slave”, “We Came To Conquer” and “Agents Of Steel” using the YouTube embeds, and visit the band’s facebook page for more info. Gypsyhawk Frontman Eric Harris Talks About New Album & More

By Andrew Bansal

Pasadena-based classic heavy metal band Gypsyhawk released their second studio album, and first on Metal Blade Records, ‘Revelry & Resilience’ on August 28th, an album I’m really fond of at the moment. They did a US headline tour after that, and are now gearing up to go out on the road again, supporting The Sword on a 37-date US tour. Gypsyhawk is a band that has been featured in the news, album reviews and gig reviews on this website, but I never really got a chance to do an interview with any of the members, even though they were pretty much ‘local’ to me for a long time. But finally today, on October 16th 2012, I spoke to vocalist/bassist Eric Harris over the phone to discuss the new album, the recent headline tour, upcoming stuff, and various other things. Enjoy this candid conversation below, and visit Gypsyhawk’s facebook and twitter pages to keep up with them. Continue reading “Gypsyhawk Frontman Eric Harris Talks About New Album & More”
