Eyehategod Vocalist Mike IX Williams Talks About New Band Corrections House (Audio)

By Andrew Bansal

Corrections House is a new band that combines the musical talents of Bruce Lamont (Yakuza), Scott Kelly (Neurosis), Sanford Parker (Minsk, Nachtmystium) and Mike IX Williams (Eyehategod). The mere thought of a collaboration between these gentlemen is daunting in itself, and in my opinion the music on their debut album ‘Last City Zero’ which came out via Neurot Recordings on October 29, lives up to the hype I had built up in my head. It’s a little hard to describe, but I would attempt at classifying the music as old-school industrial with a strong ‘experimental’ vibe to it. Recently, I spoke to Mike IX Williams about the origins, working process and future of this band, and the latest episode of the Metal Assault Podcast includes this interview. Listen to it below. The Corrections House segment begins at around the 41-minute mark, and the full playlist can be viewed here.
