Canadian death metal band Kataklysm celebrated their 20th anniversary as a band with the release of the ‘Iron Will’ live concert/documentary DVD last year, and are now ready to put out their 11th studio album ‘Waiting For The End To Come’ on October 29th via Nuclear Blast Records. The album sees them make a conscious attempt to do something new, while still keeping intact the signature Kataklysm ‘Northern hyperblast’ sound. Upon listening to it, I discovered this new album to be an absolutely skull-crushing set of tunes, and with the cover artwork as epic as it is, this album is worthy of occupying the mantlepiece of any genuine extreme metal fan. A couple of weeks ago, I did an interview with vocalist Maurizio Iacono to talk about all things Kataklysm. The interview was on Episode 8 of the Metal Assault radio show on Razor KXRZ in the live broadcast last Wednesday October 23rd 2013, and now the podcast version of the entire episode is posted below. The Kataklysm segment begins at exactly the 1:09:00 mark. Check out the full playlist for the episode here.
