Winterfylleth Frontman Talks About New Album, British Folk Influences (Audio)

By Andrew Bansal

Based out of Manchester, England, Winterfylleth is a folk-inspired black metal band that has been around since 2007, and released two studio albums till date. Their third album “The Threnody Of Triumph” will release in North America on September 25th, via Candlelight Records. Building upon the music laid down on the first two albums, this one showcases the group’s collective progress as musicians, this is an enjoyable treat for extreme metal fans, and looks set to help them widen Winterfylleth’s cult following. Yesterday night, on September 21st 2012, I had a detailed chat with guitarist/vocalist Chris Naughton to talk about this album, the stunning cover art (which you can view in its high-resolution glory here), the band’s British folk influences, live shows, and lots more. Listen to the 27-minute conversation, check out the song “A Thousand Winters” here, and visit the band’s facebook page for more info.
