Sinister Realm is a heavy metal band from Allentown, Pennsylvania, that started out in 2008. Their musical style usually consists of traditional metal combined with traces of epic doom. Not long after they started, they put out a four-song demo and subsequently got signed to Shadow Kingdom Records, releasing their first full length album in 2009. The sophomore album “The Crystal Eye” came out in July 2011, and since then the band has been playing a few shows as well as writing more new material. Also part of their plans is a split release with Indian horror metal band Albatross, slated to release before the end of this year. Earlier today, on September 12th 2012, I had a chat with bassist John Gaffney, and we talked in detail about the band’s history, the split release and future plans.
