Influential New York heavy metal veterans Prong are ready with their ninth studio album ‘Ruining Lives’, already released in Europe on April 28 via SPV Steamhammer and awaiting its May 13 release in North America. A diverse slab of hardcore and groove metal intertwined with modern elements, this Prong record promises to please fans old and new. Yesterday on April 28, I spoke to vocalist/guitarist Tommy Victor to discuss the concept and working process behind the album in detail, and delved into his thoughts on the band’s history, the New York hardcore scene, performing live, touring with Danzig, and a few other topics. Greg Mackintosh Talks About New Vallenfyre Album ‘Splinters’

Three years ago, Paradise Lost guitarist Greg Mackintosh started a crusty doom-death side project called Vallenfyre, donning the new role of frontman and recruiting Paradise Lost band mate Adrian Erlandsson on drums along with Hamish Glencross (My Dying Bride) on guitars and Scoot (Doom/Extinction Of Mankind). The quartet released their debut album ‘A Fragile King’, lyrically based on Greg Mackintosh’s expressions resulting from the personal tragedy of his father’s death, and now Vallenfyre is ready with the follow-up album ‘Splinters’, due out on May 12th in Europe and May 13th in North America via Century Media Records. In Conversation With New Arch Enemy Vocalist Alissa White-Gluz

Longstanding Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy are entering a new chapter in their career, with vocalist Angela Gossow stepping down from her duties and heralding Alissa White-Gluz, formerly of The Agonist, as the new Arch Enemy frontwoman. The band is set to release ‘War Eternal’, their first album with Alissa and ninth overall, on June 4th, 9th and 10th in Japan, Europe and North America respectively via Century Media Records. New Orleans black ‘n roll tyrants Goatwhore are currently slaying stages across North America on the Metal Alliance Tour alongside Behemoth, 1349, Inquisition and Black Crown Initiate, and are ready to unleash their sixth studio album ‘Constricting Rage of the Merciless’ on July 8th via Metal Blade Records. They delivered a crushing set at the House Of Blues Sunset Strip last Saturday, despite vocalist Ben Falgoust’s insane schedule that day wherein he flew straight from New Orleans to make it to the show just in time for the set.
