Portland, Oregon sludge/doom quartet Graves At Sea recently concluded a short US run titled ‘The Cold Dead Hands Tour’, in support of their crushing 2016 debut full-length ‘The Curse That Is’ (Relapse Records). Besides appearances at 71 Grind Fest in Colorado Springs and Northwest Terror Fest in Seattle, Graves At Sea also played a handful of headline shows, including one at the 5 Star Bar in Los Angeles on June 7th. Our man Jimmy Cabbs caught up with vocalist Nathan Misterek to discuss the latest record, the tour and more. Canadian musician, songwriter and producer extraordinaire Devin Townsend continues to enjoy a sizable fan-following the world of heavy metal, but in reality has reached a point far beyond any genre limitations, as proven by the latest Devin Townsend Project record ‘Transcendence’, and his evolution to reach this state is evident from his past work. Devin Townsend is currently indulging in sporadic live performances and all the while plotting his next creative moves, but recently, he completed a short North American run including headline dates as well as shows supporting Opeth and Gojira. This run started at the Glass House in Pomona, California, and Devin sat down with Metal Assault to talk about a wide variety of topics, and hinted at what he has in store for the future. “We’re Just Continuing the Venom Legacy”: In Conversation with Tony ‘Demolition Man’ Dolan of Venom Inc

Venom Inc features Tony “Demolition Man” Dolan on bass and vocals, Jeffrey “Mantas” Dunn on guitar and Anthony “Abaddon” Bray on drums, and was formed in 2014 as an extension of all things Venom. They not only perform all the Venom classics in their live shows which have been positively received worldwide, but they’ve signed to Nuclear Blast and are getting ready to release a new album later this year. In addition, they will embark on the ‘Blood Stained Earth’ North American headline tour with support acts Goatwhore, Toxic Holocaust and The Convalescence in September. Most recently, they were part of the lineup for the Blackest Of The Black festival in Silverado, California, and our man Jimmy Cabbs sat down with the Demolition Man himself for a very insightful and entertaining interview.
