October 20th 2016, Belasco Theater, Los Angeles CA: Swedish rockers Opeth sold out the Belasco Theater in downtown Los Angeles for a special show billed as ‘A Night of Sorcery, Damnation, and Deliverance’, which saw the band performing two sets for nearly three hours in front of an audience of 2500 fans. Opeth has a history of performing special concerts in Los Angeles, from their ‘Chronology’ show in 2006 to their ‘Blackwater Park’ show in 2010, and this performance was just as special.

During the first set, Opeth played a variety of hits from their career, including tracks from ‘Sorceress’, their most recent release on Nuclear Blast records. The second set was focused on tracks from their albums ‘Deliverance’ and ‘Damnation’, including an impromptu sing-along session where the band fielded requests from the audience to play snippets of popular songs. The band were in fine form, seemingly effortless in a performance that brought many old classics to life. This show was another great treat for the city of Los Angeles, and hopefully it won’t be the last.
