Following the announcement of a Hollywood Bowl show and three festival dates, Los Angeles prog/alt metal supergroup A Perfect Circle have revealed a month-long Spring 2017 run of US dates, their first tour of the States since 2011. Swedish death metal giants Entombed reformed as Entombed A.D. in 2014, and have been going strong since, both in the studio and on stage. They have already released two full-length albums ‘Back to the Front’ and ‘Dead Dawn’, and have toured extensively. In 2017, they are set to return to North America for a headline tour which also features Full Of Hell and Turbid North as support acts. The tour will hit the Los Angeles area on Tuesday January 17th, and will include Teeth as local openers. Parody glam metal kings Steel Panther have announced another return to the Roxy in West Hollywood for four residency shows, set to take place on February 27th and March 6th, 13th and 20th. Steel Panther did a successful four-show residency at the Roxy in October-November last year, performing at the club for the first time in a decade, and seem to have made it their new old home as they are all set to take the same stage again to bring all the metal and all the sleazy humor they’re renowned for. Their fourth full-length ‘Stand In The Fire’ is hands down the best album of the year 2016, and less than a year later, Canadian metal group Striker are back with the next one. The band has announced that the fifth album is self-titled and will be self-released via their own label Breaking Records on February 24th 2017. Following the successful inaugural edition of the ‘Show Your Scars’ festival at the Regent in Los Angeles in 2016, the folks behind Show Your Scars are bringing you the second edition this year at the same venue, this time named ‘Dia De Los Metaleros’. The diverse and power-packed lineup features as many as 9 bands, all performing on the main stage: Brujeria, Repulsion, The Casualties, Exhumed, Ides Of Gemini, Nausea L.A., Pinata Protest, Taarkus and Destroyed In Seconds. The festival takes place tomorrow, Saturday January 7th 2017 and is already sold out, but for the convenience of ticket holders, we are relaying the set times, as posted on facebook by a member of one of the participating bands. Los Angeles grindcore/death metal veterans Brujeria have made a full return to prominence, and are taking no prisoners. Following the 2016 Nuclear Blast release of ‘Pocho Aztlan’, their first full-length studio album since 2000 and a tour immediately after, Brujeria are starting 2017 with a three-week US headline tour, also featuring The Casualties and Pinata Protest as support acts. The three bands will visit the Orange County area in Southern California for a gig at The Observatory OC on Wednesday January 11th, with local support from Corrupted Youth and Mafia Rusa.
