Parody glam metal kings Steel Panther have announced another return to the Roxy in West Hollywood for four residency shows, set to take place on February 27th and March 6th, 13th and 20th. Steel Panther did a successful four-show residency at the Roxy in October-November last year, performing at the club for the first time in a decade, and seem to have made it their new old home as they are all set to take the same stage again to bring all the metal and all the sleazy humor they’re renowned for. Their fourth full-length ‘Stand In The Fire’ is hands down the best album of the year 2016, and less than a year later, Canadian metal group Striker are back with the next one. Following the successful inaugural edition of the ‘Show Your Scars’ festival at the Regent in Los Angeles in 2016, the folks behind Show Your Scars are bringing you the second edition this year at the same venue, this time named ‘Dia De Los Metaleros’. The diverse and power-packed lineup features as many as 9 bands, all performing on the main stage: Brujeria, Repulsion, The Casualties, Exhumed, Ides Of Gemini, Nausea L.A., Pinata Protest, Taarkus and Destroyed In Seconds. The festival takes place tomorrow, Saturday January 7th 2017 and is already sold out, but for the convenience of ticket holders, we are relaying the set times, as posted on facebook by a member of one of the participating bands. Los Angeles grindcore/death metal veterans Brujeria have made a full return to prominence, and are taking no prisoners. Following the 2016 Nuclear Blast release of ‘Pocho Aztlan’, their first full-length studio album since 2000 and a tour immediately after, Brujeria are starting 2017 with a three-week US headline tour, also featuring The Casualties and Pinata Protest as support acts. The three bands will visit the Orange County area in Southern California for a gig at The Observatory OC on Wednesday January 11th, with local support from Corrupted Youth and Mafia Rusa. Dallas, Texas stoner rock trio Mothership are about to set foot on a run of Southern US dates en route to this year’s Shiprocked Cruise. Dubbed ‘Southern Invasion’, this is in addition to their already announced run of US dates with Speedealer and Against The Grain. Plus, the band will also be releasing their third studio album ‘High Strangeness’ on March 17th 2017 via Ripple Music. Quickly following up his 2016 solo album ‘Infinite Entanglement’, former Iron Maiden singer Blaze Bayley is already back with its sequel in 2017. ‘Endure and Survive (Infinite Entanglement Part II)’ is the second in a trilogy based a sci-fi concept, and will be self-released on March 3rd. Bayley will be embarking on a world tour to promote the album, playing 120 shows across Europe, US, Canada, Latin America and beyond through 2017-18. The European tour dates are set between February and June, and are posted on the official website (link above).
