Japanese eclectic heavy rockers Boris are not only known for their prolific and diverse array of recorded material, but since their 1992 inception, they’ve also developed a reputation for off-the-chain live performances. They’ve accrued a loyal fan base in North America, which only continues to grow, and as a result, the band tours these parts on a regular basis. This year, Boris is presenting another special show, as on their ongoing summer tour they are performing the 2005 ‘Pink’ album in its entirety, along with Seattle drone doom masters Earth as the support act. The day before Boris take the stage at the Psycho Las Vegas Festival, the tour will end in Los Angeles with a gig at the Regent on Friday August 26th 2016. Hailing from Singapore, blackened thrash/d-beat trio Blood Division comprises ex-members of Impiety and Draconis Infernum, and have been bludgeoning their way through the darkest depths of the metal underground in their country and beyond over the past seven years. After independently releasing a cassette tape demo titled ‘Grip Of Power’ in 2011, they gained much traction and followed it up with the 2012 debut EP ‘Necrordnance’, and the 2013 ‘Cursed In Rotting Blood’ split release with UK black metal band Rotting Bull. They also headlined the third annual edition of the Trendslaughter Fest in Bangalore, India the same year, an event put together by Indian record label/distro/promoter Cyclopean Eye Productions. Fast forward to 2016, Blood Division are ready to release their debut full-length ‘Traitors To The Gallows’ in late August via Cyclopean Eye Productions, and Metal Assault is proud to bring you the exclusive North American premiere of the track ‘Sulphur Halitosis’. Washington D.C. modern prog metal giants Periphery released their fifth full-lengths studio album ‘Periphery III: Select Difficulty’ in July 2016 via Sumerian Records, and have embarked on the ‘Sonic Unrest’ U.S. headline tour with support from U.K. prog rock band SikTh who’re touring the States for the first time ever, San Diego instrumental trio Chon, and New Jersey proggers Toothgrinder. The 2016 edition of the annual Summer Slaughter North American extreme metal touring festival is certainly pulling no punches and leaving no stone unturned in making it the most powerful lineup it’s ever had to offer. Headlined by Cannibal Corpse, the lineup also features heavyweights Nile, After The Burial, Suffocation, Carnifex, Revocation, Krisiun, Slaughter To Prevail, Ingested and Enterprise Earth. Summer Slaughter will be starting out in the home of American death metal i.e. Florida and making its way to Southern California for two gigs, the second of which is slated to take place at the Novo in downtown Los Angeles on Friday August 12th. Following the July 2016 release of their fourth full-length studio album ‘Welcome To The Graveyard’, San Francisco Bay Area doom metal trio Castle embarked on an extensive North American headline tour to crush stages all over the continent with their heavy riffs and sooth souls with their easy-flowing rock n’ roll. As part of this two-month long tour, Castle will be visiting the Los Angeles area to perform at Complex in Glendale, with Washington DC band Caustic Casanova as main support and local openers Trapped Within Burning Machinery and Taarkus, for an event together by promoters Church Of The 8th Day.
