Sunset Strip parody metal kings Steel Panther are returning to their old home The Roxy for a 4-show residency this October/November, starting with a Halloween night show on October 31st. Devin Townsend Project and Between The Buried And Me have joined forces for a co-headline tour this September-October along with opening act Fallujah, for what promises to be a treat-and-a-half for all fans of modern prog. The ‘Transcending The Coma’ tour, named after DTP’s 2016 full-length release ‘Transcendence’ and BTBAM’s latest effort ‘Coma Ecliptic’, is slated to visit downtown Los Angeles for a gig at The Novo DTLA on Thursday October 6th. With their latest album ‘The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here’ now three years old, Seattle hard rock icons Alice In Chains are working on new material for the next release, but in the meantime continue to tour actively, and are currently coming to the end of their second US leg of headline dates. Following their 2015 North American headline tour in support of their latest album ‘Beyond The Red Mirror’, German power metal veterans Blind Guardian are returning for a second leg in 2016 with opening act Grave Digger, but this time they’re revisiting their 1995 album ‘Imaginations From The Other Side’ and will be performing it in its entirety. Blind Guardian will be ending this four-week tour with three shows in California, including a gig at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood on Tuesday October 4th, their first appearance at the venue since 2010. Colorado progressive/avant-garde extreme metal group Cobalt are commencing a three-week North American headline tour in support of their latest Profound Lore full-length release ‘Slow Forever’, and will be mesmerizing masses with their unique brand of heaviness. Along with them they’re bringing German sludge metal duo Mantar, who released their second LP ‘Ode To The Flame’ via Nuclear Blast earlier this year. Metal guitar icon Zakk Wylde released ‘Book Of Shadows II’ earlier this year, his first solo album in 20 years, and is support of the release, Wylde is currently on an extensive North American headline tour. He will soon bring his six-string exploits to the Los Angeles area, ending this long tour with a gig at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood on Saturday September 3rd.
