BOMBS OF HADES: Swedish Deathcrust Ensemble Join The Pulverised Roster

Swedish deathcrust ensemble BOMBS OF HADES are the latest addition to the ever-pummeling Pulverised Records roster! Spawned in 2002 as a crustpunk act, BOMBS OF HADES quickly mutated into a gristly old-school Swedish death metal direction, while still retaining a strong d-beat/crust vibe. Fronted by Jonas Stålhammar (ex-God Macabre, ex-Utumno, etc), who recently served briefly with legendary Swedish thrashers The Crown, the band is now geared up for their second full-length, entitled A Serpent’s Redemption. The follow-up to 2010’s Chambers Of Abominations, released via Blood Harvest Records, is expected to drop sometime next year.

THE DEVIL’S BLOOD Premieres New Track

Today Pitchfork.com premieres “Fire Burning,” the eighth track from The Thousandfold Epicentre, the upcoming full-length from Dutch occult rockers THE DEVIL’S BLOOD. Set for North American release on January 17, 2012 via Metal Blade Records, the offering is already earning critical acclaim. Decibel Magazine called it “…an 11-track opus of maximum cosmic significance…,” Terrorizer dubbed it “dynamic and luminous,” while LA Weekly praised the band saying: “THE DEVIL’S BLOOD bring to mind what Jefferson Airplane’s sound would have been if they abandoned their love of psychedelic drugs for good old-fashioned Satanism.”

MEGATON LEVIATHAN: Portland Doom-Gazers Begin Work On New Full-Length

Portland, Oregon doom-gazers MEGATON LEVIATHAN, who completed a successful run of tour dates with cerebral black metal behemoths Wolves In The Throne Room this summer, are set to begin work on their as-yet-untitled new full-length. The record, which includes a “smacked-out version of Judas Priest’s ‘Here Come The Tears,'” according to the band, will be unleashed during the latter half of 2012.
