Following their 2015 North American headline tour in support of their latest album ‘Beyond The Red Mirror’, German power metal veterans Blind Guardian are returning for a second leg in 2016 with opening act Grave Digger, but this time they’re revisiting their 1995 album ‘Imaginations From The Other Side’ and will be performing it in its entirety. Blind Guardian will be ending this four-week tour with three shows in California, including a gig at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood on Tuesday October 4th, their first appearance at the venue since 2010. Colorado progressive/avant-garde extreme metal group Cobalt are commencing a three-week North American headline tour in support of their latest Profound Lore full-length release ‘Slow Forever’, and will be mesmerizing masses with their unique brand of heaviness. Along with them they’re bringing German sludge metal duo Mantar, who released their second LP ‘Ode To The Flame’ via Nuclear Blast earlier this year. Metal guitar icon Zakk Wylde released ‘Book Of Shadows II’ earlier this year, his first solo album in 20 years, and is support of the release, Wylde is currently on an extensive North American headline tour. He will soon bring his six-string exploits to the Los Angeles area, ending this long tour with a gig at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood on Saturday September 3rd. Following the March 2016 release of their seventh full-length album ‘Incarnate’, Westfield, Massachusetts metalcore giants Killswitch Engage have been busy touring in support of the new release. Amidst their ongoing North American tour supporting Volbeat, Killswitch Engage have booked some off-date headline shows, and one of these will bring them to downtown Los Angeles for a gig at the Novo on Friday September 2nd, with support from Exodus and Unearth, altogether constituting a power-packed lineup of three well-established metal bands. Japanese eclectic heavy rockers Boris are not only known for their prolific and diverse array of recorded material, but since their 1992 inception, they’ve also developed a reputation for off-the-chain live performances. They’ve accrued a loyal fan base in North America, which only continues to grow, and as a result, the band tours these parts on a regular basis. This year, Boris is presenting another special show, as on their ongoing summer tour they are performing the 2005 ‘Pink’ album in its entirety, along with Seattle drone doom masters Earth as the support act. The day before Boris take the stage at the Psycho Las Vegas Festival, the tour will end in Los Angeles with a gig at the Regent on Friday August 26th 2016. Hailing from Singapore, blackened thrash/d-beat trio Blood Division comprises ex-members of Impiety and Draconis Infernum, and have been bludgeoning their way through the darkest depths of the metal underground in their country and beyond over the past seven years. After independently releasing a cassette tape demo titled ‘Grip Of Power’ in 2011, they gained much traction and followed it up with the 2012 debut EP ‘Necrordnance’, and the 2013 ‘Cursed In Rotting Blood’ split release with UK black metal band Rotting Bull. They also headlined the third annual edition of the Trendslaughter Fest in Bangalore, India the same year, an event put together by Indian record label/distro/promoter Cyclopean Eye Productions. Fast forward to 2016, Blood Division are ready to release their debut full-length ‘Traitors To The Gallows’ in late August via Cyclopean Eye Productions, and Metal Assault is proud to bring you the exclusive North American premiere of the track ‘Sulphur Halitosis’.
