India’s WORKSHOP Reunite, Announce Comeback Show

India’s humor metal/rock band WORKSHOP, fronted by Demonstealer (DEMONIC RESURRECTION), had recently called it quits. The announcement came shortly after their bass player Riju Dasgupta of horror metal act ALBTROSS quit the band. The band has now announced their comeback gig, on January 8th, 2012 at the Blue Frog in Mumbai. However no mention has been made of who the new bass player or lead guitarist is. Devesh Dayal from GODDESS GAGGED was last seen filling in the lead guitar spot in the band.
Demonstealer commented “The decision to disband was just something we did because we were really down and out with Riju leaving the band, this year has been particularly terrible for me personally and it just felt like the right thing to do at the time. However later on I realized that music was the one thing in my life that I never gave up on so it made sense to not give up on something I’d invested so much into and that is why Workshop is back.”

The band is also looking for a band to open the show and is calling for demos to be sent to workshopband@gmail.com and the band they select will not just open the show on the 8th but also get paid for it.

“We’re looking for a band that is fun, we don’t care if they are a metal, punk, disco, jazz or fusion. The essence of our music is the fun and humor and we want a band that brings that vibe to the show not to mention good music and the ability to kick some ass on stage. We want to give new bands a shot because we know how hard it is for bands to get good shows so hopefully we’ll have a kickass band opening the gig for us”, commented drummer Hamza Kazi.
