Anthems, Anthrax’s long-awaited, eight-track EP that pays tribute to the classic songs by some of Anthrax’s favorite bands from the 1970s, will be released in North America on March 19 (MRI/Megaforce), and on March 22 in Europe (Nuclear Blast).  Anthems‘s track listing features Rush’s “Anthem,” Thin Lizzy’s “Jailbreak,” “TNT” by AC/DC, Boston’s “Smokin’,” “Big Eyes” by Cheap Trick, Journey’s “Keep on Runnin,” as well as the album version and a special remix of Anthrax’s “Crawl” from the band’s critically-acclaimed 2011 album Worship Music.  Continue reading “ANTHRAX Confirms ‘Anthems’ EP”

Indian thrash metal band Sceptre have revealed that the name of their new album is ‘Age Of Calamity’. The artwork for the new record has been done by designer Aakash Dwivedi who has previously worked with bands like Albatross, Solar Deity and Eyehategod.

Aakash Dwivedi is the designer of Indian black metal band Solar Deity’s logo and artwork (he also works with bands like Albatross and Sceptre). He has now taken over Nephalist Recordings, which was earlier only a moniker to release Solar Deity’s music under. Nephalist Recordings is now a legit music label which will produce physical copies of Solar Deity releases. Aakash Dwivedi has plans of turning Nephalist Recordings into a full-fledged underground extreme metal label and distro. For more details, visit the site: Nephalist Recordings.

Today, the 13th of January 2013, rock legends BLACK SABBATH have announced the title of their new album, 13, which will be released this June (exact date TBA). The original BLACK SABBATH–OZZY OSBOURNE (vocals), TONY IOMMI (guitar) and GEEZER BUTLER (bass)–have recorded the album primarily in Los Angeles and were joined at the sessions by drummer Brad Wilk (Rage Against The Machine). Produced by Rick Rubin (seven-time Grammy winner, two of those as Producer of the Year), the album will be released on Vertigo (worldwide) and Vertigo/Republic in the U.S. 13 marks the Grammy-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees’ return to Vertigo, the band’s original label; it’s the group’s first studio album together since 1978’s Never Say Die!
