Resurrected in 2015 by founding members Phil Anselmo, Jimmy Bower and Kevin Bond, New Orleans, Louisiana sludge metal/hardcore punk band Superjoint released their comeback album ‘Caught Up In The Gears Of Application’ on November 11th 2016 via Housecore Records, the band’s first full-length since 2003. They have just announced the first leg of their US headline tour in support of the album. Superjoint will tour the States with Battlecross and Child Bite in January/February 2017. Oxnard, California power violence group Nails will be doing a two-week North American tour with support acts Toxic Holocaust and Gatecreeper in March 2017. 2016 has been the most successful year of Nails’ career as it saw them release their highly acclaimed third full-length and Nuclear Blast debut ‘You Will Never Be One Of Us’. They will return to conquer stages in 2017, and with these support bands they are presenting an unmatchably devastating lineup. Swedish prog giants Opeth and French extreme metal stalwarts Gojira have joined forces for what promises to be a treat-and-a-half for fans in the US, as the two bands will be playing together in 2017. Finnish group Battle Beast have finally announced their first tour of North America, much to the delight of the fans they’ve made in this continent over the ten years of their existence, which has seen them release three full-length albums of glorious fist-pumping power metal. Battle Beast will be touring across the US and Canada with Sabaton and Leaves’ Eyes in Spring 2017. Their fourth LP ‘Bringer Of Pain’ will be released on February 17th 2017 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. Yes, you read it right. Shock rock innovator Arthur Brown last toured in 1969. After a successful appearance on the Psycho Las Vegas festival in 2016, The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown will embark on the band’s first tour in 47 years in February 2017, with support from Electric Citizen on all dates, and rotating regional support. Details for the sixth annual edition of the Decibel Magazine tour have been revealed, and this certainly looks like the best lineup the tour has offered thus far, promising quite the treat for metalheads all across the US and Canada. The 2017 edition will be headlined by German thrash veterans Kreator, and will feature Tampa, Florida death metal giants Obituary,Cleveland, Ohio blackened speed/thrash metal band Midnight, and fast-rising Philadelphia PA death metal group Horrendous as the support acts.
