In this week’s edition of Throwback Thursday, we revisit German metal queen Doro Pesch’s original band Warlock, which eventually became her solo band by the end of the 80s. Warlock released four studio albums, including the 1986 ‘True As Steel’ LP, in support of which they did a world tour and traveled across North America as part of it. Pesch was a very young 22-year old performer at the time, but almost 30 years later, she brings the same level of dedication, energy and passion to the stage, and her longstanding modern-day relevance is the sole reason why she is being featured in this segment. Montreal-based photographer Wayne William Archibald saw the band at Club Soda in his hometown in 1986, and captured these great photos. The exact date and set list for the show remains unknown, but enjoy the photos below:

In this week’s edition of Throwback Thursday, we revisit a fantastic touring lineup that traveled North America in late 1984 and early 1985, headed by Metallica with WASP as main support and Armored Saint as the opening act. Metallica were touring in support of ‘Ride The Lightning’, meanwhile WASP were presenting tunes from their self-titled debut album, and Armored Saint were carrying out the ‘March Of The Saint’. These three albums are stil heralded as timeless classics and have not lost their impact on listeners even one bit over the past 30-plus years, which just puts into perspective the nostalgic magnitude of this tour. Wayne William Archibald attended night # 1 of the two nights this lineup played at Le Spectrum in Montreal January 15-16 1985, and captured these images at the show.
