SOLAR HAZE Reveals Stoner Epic “Coven” via Ghost Cult Magazine | Metal Assault Records

LA stoner metal quartet SOLAR HAZE is gearing up for the release of their self-titled debut album on vinyl and digital platforms on 4.20 via Metal Assault Records, and calling all heshers and metalheads to get ready for the monumental occasion, Solar Haze has revealed one of the many stoner epics that decorate the album.

SOLAR HAZE – Solar Haze (04.20.19)

On April 9, “Coven” was premiered exclusively via Ghost Cult Magazine, who describe the tune as “full of thick, ripping riffs, head-nodding beats, fuzzed out bass, and dramatic stacked vocals”.  Listen to it using the bandcamp player below. Solar Haze is releasing on 12″ vinyl, a standard black version as well as limited-edition neon green and transparent purple varieties. Every vinyl purchase comes with a free digital download of the entire album. And of course, the album is also being made available for streaming/purchase via all digital platforms, Bandcamp, Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, Google, etc. Plus, there are vinyl + shirt bundles for the hardcore fans. Visit the Metal Assault web store for all the info on pre-orders.

In other news, Solar Haze guitarist/vocalist Stephen Falla and drummer Ryan Falla were interviewed for a feature story on Brooklyn NY based music blog, The Music Bugle. Read the piece and get to know Solar Haze and the Falla brothers better, here.

As previously announced, Solar Haze will perform the debut album in its entirety for the album release party on 4.20 at Old Towne Pub in Pasadena, a show that will also feature Old Blood, Ancient Fears, Bellegrave and standup comic Ryan D. In the month of May, Solar Haze will embark on their first ever tour, a 10-day West Coast jaunt that will see them blazing through the Pacific North West and back.

The rip-roaring opening track of the album, “Hawk in the Wind”, was premiered on February 13 (not coincidentally the 9-year anniversary of Metal Assault), exclusively by stoner doom monolith Doomed & Stoned, along with a stellar writeup, which describes the album as “fantastically fuzzy”, among heaps of other epic words of praise lavished upon it. Listen to the song below:

Solar Haze has this to say about the recording process and about what people can expect from the album: “The self-titled Solar Haze debut is an album we’ve been looking forward to recording for a long time. We’ve been playing these songs live for a few years now, some dating back to as far as 2013, and it brings us a lot of excitement taking these songs from the stage to the vinyl with Metal Assault Records. Our producer/engineer Eddie Vasquez helped us take the music beyond our highest expectations and worked with us to create something that has a strongly defining feel you can only experience through Solar Haze. From hard hitting grooves to monster stoner jams, within Solar Haze lies an eclectic experience that has something for all kinds of metal and rock fans alike.”

What the press is saying about Solar Haze:

“… the entirety of Solar Haze – from the aggressive, driving beat of the rhythm section to the daring leads and laser sharp riffs – provides us with something that’s been missing from the heavy scene at large: that magic combination of fun, wicked, and earth-shaking.” – Doomed & Stoned

“… Full of thick, ripping riffs, head-nodding beats, fuzzed out bass, and dramatic stacked vocals, the band is looking to make a big splash on the scene in 2019 with this release.” – Ghost Cult Magazine
