In the wake of their upcoming new album\u2019s release, Norwegian Avantgarde Metallers BORKNAGAR have announced a new drummer for the band\u2019s line-up.<\/p>\n
The exceptionally talented youngster Baard Kolstad (http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BaardKolstadOfficial<\/a>) is joining BORKNAGAR as new drummer and he will perform his first show together with the band at this year\u2019s Inferno Festival in Norway, April 4th<\/sup>\u20137th<\/sup>\u00a0in Oslo, Norway \/\u00a0www.infernofestival.net<\/a>. Kolstad\u2019s extreme drum abilities have been proven through several YouTube clips, TV-appearances in Norway and just recently he won the world championship in V- Drums, in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n BORKNAGAR\u2019s mastermind \u00d8ystein G. Brun comments as follows:\u00a0\u201cFirst and foremost I would like to welcome Baard into the fold, may our journey ahead become a joy able ride. We are all very excited about Baard teaming up with the band. He has proven to be an immensely talented drummer with skills and a technique that is simply breathtaking. Our first encounter was late last year when he stepped in and recorded drums for ICS Vortex\u2019s cover version of Metallica\u2019s song \u201cDon\u2019t Tread On Me\u201d. Since then we have kept an eye on him. When we spilt with David Kinkade a bit later on, the road ahead was obvious. The album\u2019s artwork was designed by Brazilian artist\u00a0Marcelo Vasco (www.P2RDESIGN.com<\/a>), who has not only already worked on the band\u2019s previous \u201cUniversal\u201d release but also with artists such as Soulfly, Belphegor, Einherjer or Keep of Kalessin.
