Aptly titled\u00a0<em>Torture,<\/em>\u00a0the follow-up to 2009\u2019s\u00a0<em>Evisceration Plague<\/em>\u00a0offers up 12 tracks of maniacally precise, soul-searing death metal.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><em>Torture\u00a0<\/em>was again produced by Hate Eternal\u2019s Erik Rutan at his own Mana Recording Studio in St. Petersburg, Florida as well as Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas, and features the maniacal cover art by longtime\u00a0<strong>CANNIBAL CORPSE<\/strong>\u00a0artist, Vincent Locke.<\/p>\n<p>While\u00a0<em>Torture<\/em>\u00a0marks the latest progression in the band\u2019s sound, it also witnesses a return to what drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz accurately terms \u201cthe frenzied attack of\u00a0<em>Butchered At Birth<\/em>(1991) or\u00a0<em>Tomb Of The Mutilated<\/em>\u00a0(1992),\u201d infusing the band\u2019s advanced musicianship with the raw savagery that haunted their earlier releases, and in the process conceiving the definitive\u00a0<strong>CANNIBAL CORPSE<\/strong>\u00a0record. Adds bassist Alex Webster on the outcome of the record: \u201cWe\u2019re extremely happy with how\u00a0<em>Torture<\/em>\u00a0turned out. Erik Rutan did an amazing job with the production, and the songwriting and performances may be our strongest yet.
