Exclusive Premiere: Nyctophile – We Are The Darkness (Music Video)
Metal Assault is pleased to bring you another exclusive premiere, this one featuring Los Angeles based melodic death metal group Nyctophile. They released their debut full-length “We Are The Darkness” earlier this year, and have proven themselves as one of the more promising extreme metal bands to have emerged in the LA underground over the past two years. The Role of Heavy Metal in Gaming
If you’re asked to think of an iconic video game soundtrack, what is the first that comes to mind? Is it the cheerful chip-tune melodies of Super Mario Bros. or perhaps the sinister orchestral music of Dead Space? Perhaps the first thing that comes to mind is not a score, but rather a series of popular songs added to the game, like the Billboard Hot 100 floor-fillers of the Grand Theft Auto V soundtrack. Whichever it may be, chances are that heavy metal music rarely features. While the Guardian reports that video games account for billions of dollars in revenue for musicians and bands, these numbers haven’t yet been broken down by genre. One thing that is certain is that the biggest video game releases very rarely feature heavy metal soundtracks from the likes of Metallica or Iron Maiden. Iron Maiden announces 2019 North American Tour
Iron Maiden has announced the eagerly anticipated North American leg of the Legacy of the Beast tour! The band will return to these shores in 2019 for an extensive run of arena and amphitheater shows, including a first ever headline appearance at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles. The tour will cover a total of 33 cities right across the U.S.A. and Canada, including Portland, Oregon where they haven’t played since 1987 on the Somewhere In Time Tour, Hartford, Connecticut where they last played in 2005, and many other places not visited since the Maiden England 2012/13 Tour.
