Slash: Live Review
By Tom Hoppa

April 10th, The Roxy, Hollywood CA: "Had we gone back in time to the early 90s?" I wondered as a line of G N' R/Slash fans stretched down the street from the Roxy all the way down to the Whiskey-A-Go-Go. It felt like it was 1991 all over again. After I pinched myself, I came to the realization that I was still in the year 2010. Unfortunately, I had not gone back in time, but to my youthful glee and anticipation, I was about to see Slash play the Roxy. This was by no means an everyday show, this was a once-in-a-lifetime performance that would showcase Rock's biggest and baddest guitar player in a small club.

Yes, Slash was set to take the stage at midnight with a group of infamous studio musicians to play all of the rock n' roll classics that he'd had a hand (or, more appropriately, a guitar) in creating throughout the years; everything from Guns & Roses and Velvet Revolver to his Billboard-charting self-titled solo album.

Slash finally took the stage at 1:00 AM and played a jam-packed hour and 40 minute set, the only break being a small pause before the two song encore of "Slither" and "Paradise City." Slash played with a mixture of famous friends and studio musicians, Miles Kennedy (Alter Bridge, Mayfair Trio) took the vocal duties, and other famous guest stars included vocalist Andrew Stockdale (of Wolfmother), and Steven Adler (Guns & Roses).
