Norwegian black metal band Kampfar have been around for more than 17 years, creating music that’s similar in style to a lot of fellow Norwegian bands, but a lot more artistic and meaningful, as it’s inspired by Norse mythology. Their latest album “Mare” came out last May on Napalm Records and has been successful in North America.<\/p>\n

Recently, the band did their first ever North American tour, a co-headline run with Vreid. When the tour came to Hollywood’s Whisky A Go-Go, I had the chance to sit down with mainman Dolk to talk about this tour, the origins of black metal and corpse paint, Norway’s Inferno festival, and other things.
