Interview: Red Fang's David Sullivan Talks Mastodon Tour, Festival Appearances, New Material (Audio)

By Aniruddh "Andrew" Bansal, November 1st 2011, The Wiltern, Los Angeles CA: 2011 has been a great year for Red Fang. The hard rock quartet based out of Portland, Oregon put out a fantastic new album "Murder The Mountains" earlier this year on Relapse Records, and have been actively touring ever since. They were part of the Metalliance Tour which featured the likes of Saint Vitus and Crowbar, then did the Mayhem Festival North American run in the summer, along with European festival appearances.

Now they are embarking on yet another popular tour, as the opening band for Mastodon and The Dillinger Escape Plan. This tour should further enhance their reputation and garner them a new fan base. On their first night of this tour at the Wiltern theatre in LA, I caught up with guitarist David Sullivan to talk about this tour, their year of 2011, new material, and other topics. Listen to the 11-minute conversation below, and check out the band's facebook page for more info.
