By Aniruddh "Andrew" Bansal, October 24th 2011, The Troubadour, Los Angeles CA: German experimental metal band The Ocean have been around for more than 10 years now, but the band has really gained a lot of mileage through their latest double concept album-release of "Heliocentric" and "Anthropocentric", specially in North America where the albums have got largely positive responses from music lovers and critics alike.

Earlier this year, they were the opening act on the Between The Buried And Me tour in North America, a tour that exposed them to a new set of audiences across the continent, and just recently they finished another run here this time as direct support to Devin Townsend. When the guys were in town here at the Troubadour, I got a chance to sit down with guitarist Robin Staps for a detailed conversation about touring in North America, Vegas, drinking, religion, and various other things.
