Phone interview with Ashmedi from MELECHESH

By Aniruddh "Andrew" Bansal

October 7th 2010, Los Angeles CA

Ashmedi talks about taking much longer to record the new album 'Epigenesis', the meaning of the title, and the response in Europe, where it has already released. He also talks about this year's Maryland Deathfest, rehearsing new songs, and touring plans for the coming months.

Ashemdi goes on to talk about his early life in Jerusalem and how it inspired him to start his own band, the impact of his move to Amsterdam, and how he uses his personal experiences for creative inspiration.

He asserts that the line-up change last year had no impact on the band's music and expresses his opinions on various topics such as using traditional instruments on stage, some of the first bands he listened to, a movie about his life, and talking about himself in public.

Ashmedi wraps up the interview by saying why Melechesh is a 'one of a kind' band and mentions some of the Oriental bands he is a fan of.
