By Aniruddh "Andrew" Bansal, August 28th 2011, Los Angeles CA: German power metal quintet Edguy started out in 1992 and have released nine studio albums since. While they have always maintained the essential power metal elements in their music, they have continued to introduce new elements in each of their albums, and their upcoming album, "Age Of The Joker" is further proof of this very trait.

In addition to having an identity as a power metal band through their music, Edguy have also carried a reputation of being very "tongue-in-cheek" with their approach towards some of their lyrics and song titles. "Age Of The Joker" offers more of this aspect, and will be available to North American fans on September 13th.

On Sunday August 28th, I got a chance to speak to bassist Tobias Exxel and we talked in detail about the new album, the Robin Hood video, their tour with The Scorpions, experimentation with new instruments, and other topics.
