In-person interview with Mikael Stanne of Dark Tranquillity

By Aniruddh "Andrew" Bansal

June 1st 2010, Key Club, Hollywood CA

I caught up with Dark Tranquillity frontman Mikael Stanne in their tour bus, a few hours before their gig at the Key Club in Hollywood, the final stop on their current North American headlining tour. Mikael said the band felt good to be back again in the States after 3 months and agreed that the fans are reacting better to the new material now. He also talked about finding the right set list to keep fans happy, the production, importance of slower songs in the set and opening band Mutiny Within.

The latter portion of the chat included topics like support bands for the European tour, playing in Latin America, one album that inspired Mikael to become a singer and the prospect of doing a 2nd North American leg. Watch the chat below!
