Destruction: Interview With Schmier (Video)

By Aniruddh "Andrew" Bansal, May 22nd 2011, Key Club, Hollywood CA: I had the pleasure of catching up with Schmier, frontman of the veteran German thrash metal band Destruction as they returned to play a show at the Key Club after what seemed like two very long years for their fans in the LA area. I talked to Schmier about this tour and the memories from that 2009 gig at this very venue. We also discussed how the band's new material from the latest album 'Day Of Reckoning' has been faring in these shows, and what difference new drummer Vaaver has made to the band.

Other than that Schmier talks about topics that include his love for Latin America, future touring plans, the limited edition version of the new album, his unique style of frontmanship, support bands on this tour, and the inspiration he has drawn from bands like Dio and Accept.
