Black Pussy gets Canceled On … Again

“Rock n’ roll is getting strange”, says Black Pussy singer Dustin Hill. The Portland, Oregon stoner rock band has faced unnecessary trouble in the past, getting banned and canceled on because of their name, even though there is nothing more to it than just a name, and the band does not condone or endorse racism or sexism of any kind. As ridiculous as it sounds, they’ve been forced to officially state that to avoid any further issues. But in the eyes of some, it is still not enough, and the band continues to suffer. The latest episode in this drama has to do with the last-minute cancelation of their show at the Hi Hat in Los Angeles, scheduled for tonight, Tuesday February 6.

The show was supposed to be headlined by Boots Electric (featuring Jesse Hughes from Eagles Of Death Metal) and Black Pussy was one of the support acts on the bill. The entire show has been canceled, and moved to the Redwood Bar in downtown LA instead. The official reason given to the band is that they breached a radius clause, but with already more than 70 pre-sale tickets supposedly sold for the event, Black Pussy strongly believes that the cancelation was solely for the same old reason and nothing more, and that the show was canceled because of threats received by the venue and promoter.

All we can say is, there is nothing offensive about Black Pussy, the band rules, and you should go see them in concert as soon as you get a chance. Visit their facebook page (linked above) to check out their upcoming tour dates and catch a show nearest to you.
